136 hp. If the engine has been taken care of (timely oil changes, coolant changes, and injectors been kept up) very reliable tractor. I would rank the transmission close to the 7100 series Magnum if not equal to it.

Does it have the same factory cab as a 7000? Have used one and liked the tractor well enough but HATED the cab, as a open platform tractor prolly ok. Entry and visibility were restricted and it is pretty noisy, I could live with the small size but not the other proablems.
Good luck.

I don't know why you would say they are noisy. Allis had the quietest cabs tested at Nebraska during the 1970's. If you are comparing the old Allis cab to todays tractors then sure they're not as quiet but still not noisy. The JD 30 series weren't great on visibility and the IH 66 series were not easy to get in and out of and were very hot. So none of the cabs back then were perfect. 7040 still a good choice.

I have many hours in 66 series, hot, loud, unhandy only some better than the aftermarket cabs. The extreme rear location did not help the ride quality either! My point is don't spend a lot of money for a tractor if the cab is gonna be a proablem, and what bothers one guy is no big deal for another. Gotta have a test drive.
ps; helped the 1466 with heave padding over the dash and trippled the floor pad thickness and glued cab foam to celing areas that did not have it. Still wore earmuffs.
