What is the value of a Belarus 420A tractor? I have not seen the tractor, but was told it has less than 700 hrs and comes with a model 360 Memo loader. How would you rate this tractor to others and can parts be found for it? Also, are parts more expensive than other name brands?Darrell

| I have a belarus 822 with a loader. I can tell you about starter problems(I fixed them). I would like to ask you about the memo loader that I have.

| Belarus' US operation in Milwaulkee is in Chapter 11, which may tend to make parts scarce. The long time Belarus dealers in our area have stopped advertising in regional newspapers. Our veterinarian had a Belarus and he once told me it was not a tractor to have if you're not mechanically inclined, bolts often needed tightening, oil leaks, poor hydraulics. Anytime Belarus is mentioned at other discussion forums it seems the majority say stay away and a few really like them, which makes one think quality control is poor.

| Thanks for the information Kevin. Your point of view just sealed my decision not to purchase. I went by a dealer today and saw a 420A they were working on for a customer. It was huge for the hp and had an air cooled engine, which is not my cup of tea.

| Don't sell air cooled diesels short! I've been running air cooled Deutz tractors for over 15 years, and a few years ago i bought 2 new Agco Allis air cooled diesel tractors.
Of the 11 tractors on my farm, i prefer air cooled engines! NO radiator, NO hoses, NO water pump and NO cavitation problems that come with water cooled diesels.
Don't confuse these air cooled engines with your B&S lawn mower! AND, i'd not buy the 420A you were looking at either!

| | Robert, I did't mean to offend you or anyone that likes air cooled engines. I just had a bad experience with a couple of VWs. No offense to VW lovers or my daughter, who swears by her new one. Darrell

| I've run a few and yes you have to be very mechanically inclined,poor electrical,quality over all poor.Good points rather easy on fuel,good starters,and you'll never have to worry about siezed bolts again they fall out or just from ripping it apart every few days can't sieze .

| So basically don't buy one of these tractors unless you are going to work on it and are ready to work on it right off the bat. This all based on existing feedbacks of course.
