Look out for corrosion on the cab especially at the base of the cab pillars, the 600 series were well known for severe structural corrosion that could affect the ability of the cab to protect the driver in an incident/overturn. Replacement cab metalwork parts are difficult to obtain. Mechanically they share most major components with other MF models from the period, I remember being told (dont know how true this is) that the tramsmission and drivetrain of the 699 could cause problems due to the extra power/ torque of the 6 cylinder engine when used on heavy draft work.

I'm not 100 on this but I think one of my cousin's had a 699.It wasn't a real big looking tractor, but it still had a 6 cyl perkins with 90-100 hp.Does this sound like the unit you are concidering?I never heard any complaints from him on his anyways.pd.
