I wonder if someone can help me out. I'm not the greatest tractor mechanic. I bought this tractor for doing various things around my yard. Last October I purchased a 1978 Ford 335 Industrial. It ran fine until mid-December when I was cleaning snow out of the yard. The engine suddenly shut off and I couldn't restart it. I started messing around with it and eventually I took off the fuel filter and re-installed it. The tractor then started and ran fine for about 1/2 to 3/4 hour and then died again. I have repeated taking off the fuel filter and running the tractor until it dies again later. It seems all I'm really doing is letting air into the fuel line and then it runs again. Is this a fuel line problem or something else? Thanks for any help

The Fuel Tank may not be venting creating a vacuum and stopping the flow of fuel after is runs for a while or you have a fuel restriction. Remove the fuel cap and see if the vent is plugged or maybe the cap is wrong.

See how long it runs with the fuel cap off or when it dies open the cap and see if it sucks in a bunch of air into the fuel tank.
