Thanks for the idea... I tried again..... The arms all the way out and I drop brake lever engine cuts out. Put brake lever back up (brake on) and, just for the heck of it, I pull arms in to move mower, engine cuts out. |

This one confuses me right now. Not sure why it would do that as it sounds like you have the machine in the correct configuration (levers out) before releasing the brake.

That sounds right. If the brake is on, and you move the levers inward, it should kill the engine to prevent possible damage to the brakes and/or hydros.
If the levers are in, and you apply the brake, it also should kill the engine for the same reason.
Given the two symptoms together, I'm leaning toward the lever position switch(es). Sounds like it/they think the levers are not out. However, the problem with this is you should not be able to start it(?).
Maybe there's some combination of sensors/switches (seat, lever, and brake) that is not happy, possibly losing its state as another one is made, thereby confusing the machine. I see this a lot in my job, but I'm no mower expert.

| Never touched.. It was parked in back corner of garage... started it up the other day and BAM.. I am running into this. It' boggling my mind |
