The engine is in a 4166 four wheel drive tractor.
Although it is an old tractor its in good condition and has low hours. It was used in a logging outfit and not worked hard. Mostly for pulling stuck equipment out of the mud once in a while.

Again, I don't want to crank it up bunches, maybe 10-25hp more if I can.

What is the difference between the 170 and 190hp 436 DT engines used on the 1460 and 1480 combines? My 436 DT engine is rated at 130hp. I'm guessing the combines used a bigger pump and the internals are probably the same as my engine.

I see where the RPM may be down. Have this checked as it will affect your HP ALOT ! It may only need to be set to run the right speeds to meet your needs.

I am not sure if there is any difference probably just turned up. The older ones have a rotary fuel pump and the newer ones have in line. The cooling is better on the combine because we have never had cooling trouble. All of my 1480 have 466 and one is running at2810 rpm no load the rest at 2750. The one at 2810 rpm will run along with the neighbour 2188 most of the time unless it gets tough.
