Hi,

Can anyone help?

I have a Case 1594, which has recently been losing a fair bit of hydrolic/steering fluid,
For the first few days i simply kept topping it up so i could continue using the tractor, however i have now realised that some how the hydrolic fluid is making its way into the engine oil. how is this possible?

Everytime I lose a litre of hydrolic fluid from the steering pump, I seemed to gain a litre of 'engine oil' - which then needs removing to correct the levels.

Any fixes would be appriciated or the telephone number or contact details of a good case mechanic.

Thanks All!

There is a seal kit available from CNH that will basically rebuild the PS pump. Part number is K964935 (Kit gasket). you should also replace the filter and reservoir o'ring as long as you have it apart. Part numbers K965217 o'ring, and K964954 filter. You may also need the pump gasket to engine plate when the pump is removed. Part number K919729. The pump is a PIA to get off and back on - have fun.

We had to do this on our 1690 last year. Basically the same tractor - rebagged David Brown.
