I have no direct experience with either but know most of the basic specs on them...
Engines are decent but probably near the top of their power range. The TW will have a dry main clutch with a crashbox and dual power (wet clutches).
The 8830 may have that same basic transmission OR a full Funk built powershift transmission. That would be fully wet clutches. PTO's are also wet...
Both decent tractors for their day, but depending on what money you have to spend you might also look at a Genesis model like the 87 or 8870... but I think you also get into the big 1000 shaft on both of them.
Beyond that, Genesis is a lot more tractor for the same power spec...
