I just bought a 8830 with power shift last fall.
I used it mainly for planting, but I also have done some heavy tillage. I put a little over 100hrs. on it so far , ana am quite happy with it.
The only problem I had was the fan clutch had to be replaced. I was also looking at a Genisis model, but the 8830 was less than 1/2 the price, and I was able to get a 540 pto on it. The series II TWs were pretty much the same tractor, just you couldn"t get the Power Shift.
