You can get the 540 gear from a salvage yard from a TW 5. Yes the TW5, 10, 8000, 9000, 8600, 9600, 8700, 9700 all had interchangable PTO shafts for 540/1000 RPM. They will slip right in. You just need to remove the 3pt. center link housing, and the Acsess Plate under the drawbar.You replace the spacer that is in the 35 with the 540 gears. A service manual helps. Joe   [Reply]  [No Email] oj 10-07-2009 15:20:24 67.201.142.185 20895 Report to Moderator Re: Ford TW35 in reply to Josh Diesel, 09-27-2009 08:34:24   it can be done (apparently), neighbour had an early TW35 that was changed to a 540 shaft, i believe he got parts from a Ford 9700, and fitted them, he only had 540 mind, if he wanted to change back it required the rear end to be torn apart to get to the gears inside.
