I need some help. I bought a used 566 baler with twine and net. I am trying to run it with a MF285 I looked at the specs before I bought the baler and it looked like I would be ok the baler requires 6.5 gpm and the tractor specs @ 7 gpm. I hooked the baler up and was having trouble with the belts getting pinched between the door and frame. The book says if tractor hyd flow is low to put orifice in tension valve, I did and it helped a little but the belts go slack as soon as I open the door. Has anyone ever run a Deere baler on a Massey tractor or any others have this problem?

The belts go slack any time the door is opened. The pinching is because the door is not being closed fast enough.

I know but there's not much slack in the belts when gate is fully raised. The belts gets pinched when gate is closed because tension arm doesn't lower quick enough. Tension should lower before gate moves down.

Please elaborate on "belts get slack as soon as I open door". Does your tractor have more than one set of remotes?

Have you made any bales? If so where does the baler pressure gauge set after bale core is formed?
