Now I got the Fuel Filters replaced and bled. It has 100+ hours on it. The last several starts took too much cranking. Now it won't start. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with changing the filters and air in the injector pump. Where can I find a short course on these Mitsubishi Diesels? How much Fuel pressure, where? How many vdc. on the glow plugs etc. ? Injector Timing ?Thanks, Nevin Follow Ups: |

| | With your help, I found that the Fuel Relay was shot. Like you said; it got harder to start. The preheater relay seemed identical, so I exchanged them. It started on the 5th revolution; not bad for no preheaters. The 90 degree days helped :) On Monday I will order a new Relay. You may use my name and site as a very satisfied owner of this tractor. | Glad to have you back up and running. I ran into that same problem a short time back on another Century and the symptoms sounded alike. DMC Follow Ups: |

| Nevin, It may be the shutoff silinoid on the fuel pump or the relay that controls it. Do you hear a "click" when the ignition is turned on? How about a slight clicking noise or rough humm? If not, remove the right access cover on the engine. You will need a 12 volt circuit testor for this quick test. On the rear side of the fuel pump you will see a round thingy about as big around as a soda can or a bit smaller and about 3 or 4 inches long. It will have wires comeing out of it. About 6 inches down these wires is a cannon type plug. Unplug it. The snap is on the flat side of the plug and hard to see but it is there. On the tractor side of this plug, comeing from the tractor under the dash, check all 3 terminals in this plug. With the ignition key in the "off" position everything should be off and not energised. Turn the ignition key to the first position, Run, and one of the terminals should should be energised. If that is ok, turn the ignition key to the "start" position and one of the other terminals should then be energised also. If not the relay on the left side of the firewall is bad. I had one of these recently with the same symptoms. It just got harder and harder to start. If everything is ok with this test the shutoff silinoid on the back of the fuelpump could be bad. Also a quick fix. Any more questions feel free to Email me. Donald M. Cosper Cosper Tractor and Implement Burleson, Texas aka. Mr. Kioti Follow Ups: |

| I never heard of the Century tractor, but it looks like a real worker, especially with that big log on it. Gerald is on the right track. You have to bleed out the high pressure system. Some injector pumps have a bleeder on the high pressure side, but you can always loosen the supply line at the injector and crank until fuel comes out, then repeat for the other lines. If it is good and warm the glow plugs shouldnt be a factor as the modern diesels need less heating than the old ones. Good Luck! Follow Ups: |

| | Not being a diesel user, I can't be sure, but I've read about there being a need to crack the connections at each injector to bleed air from them in some cases to get a diesel to run after changing filters. It apparently isn't enough to just bleed up to the pump, you have to bleed all the air out of the pump and lines to those injectors. Me, I know how to make gasoline engines run and leave diesels along. Gerald J. Follow Ups: |

| Well, what was the reason you changed the filters? Were they plugged? Maybe your tank still has stuff in it to make them plug... Follow Ups: |
