I have a Kubota B6100 14Hp tractor and I'm not sure it will handle my 6' finish mower. When I compared specs, the Kubota 14Hp diesel has more torque (116 foot*Lbs) than a Ford 9N 23Hp tractor (92 foot*Lbs). I just want to make sure I'm not going to over work it.

I have a Steiner turf tractor with a 16hp Kubota engine and a 60 inch deck. It does a good job but I often find that I wish it had more power. Almost all Asian compact tractors are rated by engine hp and US and European tractors are pto hp. Your tractor is only rated at 12 pto hp in the book so a 6 ft mower IS to big for it. If you have a lot of grass to cut now would be the time to get a bigger tractor to go with the bigger mower, or get the smaller mower to go with the tractor you have.

Don,
Go to TractorByNet and you will find some folks that have the same tractor and or similar hp rated ones. You can get all of the information that you will ever need on compact tractors.

You WILL overwork it!! A 5' will be "more" than a full load!! It's 14hp at the flywheel, not the PTO. I think you better think more in line of a 48" finish mower for your tractor, if you want it to work in all conditions and temps.! Keep in mind a rear discharge mower takes less hp to run than a side discharge.
BTW, i don't think the B6100 has a water pump, it gravity feeds the water through the radiator, and that makes matters even worse. I say that because i had a B7100 and that's the way it was. On a hot day with continous mowing it was at max temp with a 48" side discharge mower.
