we have been looking for a replacement combine and our eyes have been turned towards the early to mid 90s Case IH combines. i was wondering what relibility, grain threshing quality and price for a good unit with both heads (20' grain, 6r corn, flexible0 we would be paying.

I am running an older version of what you are looking for I have a 1983 1480 and have worked in the same field with 2188’s I can all most keep up to them. These machines have been very reliable in this area they are the most popular.
I have had very little down time in the field only about 3 hours out of 2200 the combine has 4000 hour I bought it used. I do lots of maintenance goes to the dealer every year. I also put in a specialty rotor and had the elephant ears cut.
