A little 600W heater on the end of a long light weight extension cord will not heat a 531 cu " diesel sitting out in the wind.
The oil will still be stone cold and stiff. Use synthetic or at least a 200W magnetic heater.
Batteries at -5F are pretty lazy. Bring them into the house and warm them up while on the charger.
