About 20 years ago the British airforce decided the stockpiles of V12 aicreaft engines were obsolete. They were sold off surplus at bargin prices.
For a few years they showed up in speed boats and at tractor pulls.
Might be one found in classified ads on those web sites?
For re-engining other aircraft, replacing radials and inlines. Dehavlin in Toronto are building all aluminium big block Chevs. Dry sump oiling, dual magneto drives, two spark plug heads and turbo charging. They run a gearbox to slow crank rpm down to prop rpms. Sure beats rebuilding those oil dripping 1340 etc Pratts.
