Use antifreeze for Diesel only(JD,CNH, Agco or equivalent);
Also, pH must be above 7; normally antifreeze contains dibasic phosphate which is buffered to a pH around 9; aging of EG decreases the pH but one can replenished it with sodium hydroxide (NaOH or caustic);the process must be monitored with a standardized pH meter or at least a precise pH paper like pH Hydrion.

OT: Personnally I will not switch to propylene glycol(PG) for safety reason because it is also toxic even if less toxic than ethylene glycol(EG). LD50 (oral lethal dose in rat => 50 % death) is 4700 mg EG/kg body weight and 20000 mg PG/kg, or a factor of four. PG vs EG is a concern in pharmaceutical and food cooling and heating applications, where they are used without any additive and in contact with stainless steel piping and jacket only, in case of accidental leak. PG is given to bovine suffering acetosis, but these animals have so many kilos that even a dose of 1 liter is not harmful.
