I hope I get this right. The first digit in the serial should be a number. Thats the end of the year. The next should be a letter. Thats the month it was made. A=Jan B=Feb C=March ect. Next is the day 1-31. Next is the shift it was completed on. So an example is 5L31B. 5=1985 L=December 31=the 31st B=bshift completion Hope this helps
