I had a similar problem with a cummin this fall and it was a pitted liner but the engine was wore out I don’t think it was ever apart and it is 1975. I don’t think that is your problem. What I did was took the oil pan off caped off all out lets to the rad. And put 20 LBS. In the block went under to see where it was leaking.
If the tractor has been sitting for a couple days to move it just crack the drain plug and let the water out of the bottom and refill the rad. That should be ok to just move it. My old Cummins worked a couple days with antifreeze in crankcase and didn’t hurt anything, bearings were perfect when over hauled.
