JD 5400 hard shifting

The dealer put in a new clutch in my JD 5400 w/TSS trans about six months ago, and it has gotten harder to shift since. They did take the tractor "in two" for the clutch job. Sometimes I need to let the tractor roll a little to get it into gear. I heard about greasing a spline on yesterdays tractor forum. Can this be done without pulling the tractor in half? I was hoping the problem was in the shift linkage on top of the transmission.
