Re: considering buying a JD 990Posted by hay on March 06, 2005 at 03:12:33 from (216.12.216.181): In Reply to: considering buying a JD 990 posted by Peter cny on March 05, 2005 at 17:10:11:
i found that MOST sales people will tell you anything you want to hear to make a sale. i don't have any experience with the JD990, but if it is anything like the small JD870 (28 hp) then it is a real gem. i work my tractor on everthing from 5' bush hog to moving round bales with either the loader of the rear spike. only thing i don't/can/t do is run a baler. i understand the 990 is about 40 hp, but it is a Yanmar made machine. the JD 5105 is more money, but a lot more tractor also. a complete world of difference. try to arrange a farm test for the models from your dealer and compare for yourself.
