Re: considering buying a JD 990Posted by DAVE on March 06, 2005 at 16:46:05 from (205.188.116.196): In Reply to: considering buying a JD 990 posted by Peter cny on March 05, 2005 at 17:10:11:
790 AND 990 ARE VERY TROUBLE FREE AND RETAIN GOOD RESALE VALUE. THE 5105 IS MORE TRACTOR BUT IS PROBABLY 3 T0 4000 MORE WITH LOADERS. BOTH GOOD CHOICES JUST MAKES A DIFFERENCE OF WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND WHAT YOUR POCKET BOOK SAYS. THE SNOW BLADE OUT FRONT ON THE LOADER PUTS MORE STRESS ON THE LOADER ARMS SO I DON'T THINK THAT IS A GOOD IDEA. KEEP RPM'S UP AND GROUND SPEED DOWN AND A MX5 ON A 990 WILL WORK FINE. DON.T CUT ROPS IF YOUR WORRIED ABOUT RESALE OR SAFETY. REMEMBER THE 05'S ARE ONLY SYCRONIZED BETWEEN REVERSE AND FIRST. GO WITH BLOCK HEATER.
