Re: Are there dealers who won't let you demo tractors????Posted by jp on March 13, 2001 at 15:12:35 from (216.175.30.97): In Reply to: Are there dealers who won't let you demo tractors???? posted by Woodbeef on March 12, 2001 at 04:25:39: We have tested every machine we have ever bought here. Back when we bought our first Magnum we had the local JD and CIH dealers bring out a 150-160 hp tractor. Used each one for a half day on the same chisel plow in the same field with two different drivers. Although we could have put up to 8 hours on each machine, after four we had made up our mind. Last fall the dealer insisted on letting us use a MX220 for 10 hours even though we had no intention of buying a new tractor. We gladly took him up on the offer and used the full 10 hours and only had to pay for the fuel we used. When spending $100K or more for a tractor or other machine today, you better try out your machine and make sure you are making the right decision. Sure has saved us from a few. If your dealer won't let you demo one, find a new dealer.
