Re: Any advise on buying a HUSKEE 21HP/46Cut Garden TractorPosted by Scraper on April 10, 2001 at 09:28:08 from (207.86.241.26): In Reply to: Any advise on buying a HUSKEE 21HP/46Cut Garden Tractor posted by mm on April 09, 2001 at 11:37:59:
I have a 1999 model 22HP/50" cut Huskee tractor. I use it only for mowing (1.5 acres of flat ground) and it does a decent job. I would be concerned about doing heavy work with it (tilling, heavy loads, etc.). The frame and running gear does not appear to be as heavy duty as some of the more expensive tractors (John Deere, Old wheelhorses etc.). Also, with the 50" deck (I am not sure of the 46" deck) it is very easy for the drive belt to slip off the pulley. If you plan on buying a tractor to do more than just mow and to last more than a few years, my advice would be to find a used John Deere, Wheelhorse (older model) or Cub Cadet (older model).
