I have a M-F 135 with a Perkins 3cyl diesel. In regard to the cold starting, this thing has never failed to start. Even on the coldest of days, no block heater, no Either. Now the larger four and six cylinder engines are a diffrent story. If I am not mistaken, the AD3.152 Perkins in the 135 is the exact same engine as found in the 235, only with a slightly higher HP rating.
The only advice I would give is if you are leaning toward the Massey is to get one without the Multi-Power transmission unless it is necessary for your intended use or has been recently rebuilt. They work well, when they are working and are expensive to repair. Everything else on the tractors are very durable.
I'm srue someone else will suggest to go with the brand that has the closest dealer to you. That is a consideration, but more importantly, the best dealer. To travel extra miles for an occasional part isn't a big deal, but getting poor service from any dealer is.
