It had a 436cid diesel engine and they were made 1976-81. The 1586 was made the same years, also had a 436 but was "rated" at 161.5 pto hp. In reality, most owners claim vastly greater hp levels - as much as 220 or more hp! This is because they are apparantly easy to "turn up". I have met very few 1066 owners who claim less than 170 hp, ( for a tractor supposedly 113-125 pto hp), so your best bet for any of these newer and supposedly "larger" tractors is to try them on a dynometer and see what the engine tests. Your result will NOT be comparable to an authentic 'Nebraska" test result but it will allow bragging rights and some idea as to how much power is really there.
