I've been running air cooled Deutz tractors for over 15 years, and a few years ago i bought 2 new Agco Allis air cooled diesel tractors. Of the 11 tractors on my farm, i prefer air cooled engines! NO radiator, NO hoses, NO water pump and NO cavitation problems that come with water cooled diesels. Don't confuse these air cooled engines with your B&S lawn mower! AND, i'd not buy the 420A you were looking at either!
