Price seems fine to me, but I generally make my own chains up. Buy the side and cross chain by the foot, J-Hooks by the box and then the clasps for the end. Cut the chain to length with the torch and throw them together.
I use 3/8" chain throughout... and I doubt I could make them for that money.... but I can replace the cross chain when the time comes.

The Duo-trac chians that you're looking at work pretty good. However, if you're going down the road with them, they're NOT the answer. They're rough and the wear fast. That's why I make my own up with straight cross chain.
I don't think they'll tear the tires up, or not much anyhow... but there comes a point where you need to ask if you want to move on ice or save the tires...
Double Diamond makes a good full coverage forestry SPUR chain that will protect the tires, but those are not 185 buck chains... not even close.
