Ford 335 dies after 1/2 hourPosted by TedInWI on March 08, 2009 at 19:33:35 from (4.159.8.32):
I wonder if someone can help me out. I'm not the greatest tractor mechanic. I bought this tractor for doing various things around my yard. Last October I purchased a 1978 Ford 335 Industrial. It ran fine until mid-December when I was cleaning snow out of the yard. The engine suddenly shut off and I couldn't restart it. I started messing around with it and eventually I took off the fuel filter and re-installed it. The tractor then started and ran fine for about 1/2 to 3/4 hour and then died again. I have repeated taking off the fuel filter and running the tractor until it dies again later. It seems all I'm really doing is letting air into the fuel line and then it runs again. Is this a fuel line problem or something else? Thanks for any help
