Re: 1086 ignition problemPosted by Jerry/MT on March 08, 2009 at 21:04:37 from (206.183.116.129): In Reply to: 1086 ignition problem posted by Greg Dixon on March 08, 2009 at 20:21:07: Make sure that your battery terminals are clean and tight and that your starter cables don"t have internal corrosion either within the battery terminal connector or with in the lug end that attaches to the solenoid or the starter. Make sure the starter is well grounded. To check the starter(if it doesn"t have a solenoid mounted on the starter), connect a cable from the positive (12V negative grnd system) to the starter lug directly. if it turns the starter is good. if it doesn"t you"ve found the problem.
