FWA planetary seals - how do I replacePosted by Ken Macfarlane on June 17, 2009 at 10:21:04 from (156.34.142.102): Never torn down a planetary axle before. The Dana AG85 front axle is leaking on one side, I assume baling twine got into as the previous owner fed round bales daily. I have ordered the two seals and the sheild that are listed, beyond that I'm not sure! I assume you pull the outer cover, and can then remove a circlip and pull the king pin bearings letting the axle shaft slide out? The planets and carrier must pop out too but not sure how the hub mounts to the knuckle. Any help out there?
