However... if the axle seal is leaking, or even the hub's shaft seal, that could be from bad king pins/bearings, so be prepared for that when you dig into it. I'm not familiar with the Dana axles but any ZF or Carraro I've worked on was basically the same... On those you remove the carrier/cover, then pop the snap ring off the sun shaft, then remove the king pins. King pins are nice to remove in theory... I usually just get a screwdrive under the head, then a chisel and keep working them. Get some lube on them, keep working, etc. That siad, one Carraro wouldn't give up so I ended up cutting the cardan out and drifting it from the top.. The hub's that I've dealt with were all retained by the ring gear itself which was bolted to the hub. It's quite simple once you get the cover off. King pins are the worst... and Carroro the worst of the lot. Those were shimmed with plastic shims. Lot of jerking around/measuring to get them right again. The ZF is a tapered roller bearing. Slap new ones in, done. Hope the Dana is as simple...
