Manual and Fluid Question Long 1199BPosted by WayneB on June 25, 2009 at 13:46:54 from (75.105.218.47): Long 1199B is a 3PH backhoe. This one was made somewhere about 1994. I simply cannot find a manual for this Long 1199B 3PH backhoe. Mine has tractor hydraulic fluid in it, but when it gets hot, it begins leaking around the boom cylinder end cap. The Packing. Had it fixed, but leaks again now. Around the packing; the seal on the ram does not leak. Suspect it requires a different fluid, this was what was in it. I drained some and compared it to hyd fluid, but that don"t mean the previous owner did not put the wrong stuff in. Fluid come out around the packing and it has way too much arriation in the fluid. Have it back at the shop now being repaired again. So, what fluid? OK, Type A hyd went away in 1960... Three questions.
