well, sounds like your off to a good start, getting the wire out can be the worst part , do not try to push it back in, with hoses off you need to pull it out now, so pull it out till the rod is extended, and the piston comes up against the end gland inside, now, use the rod as a slide hammer and try to yank the end out of the cylinder, sometimes the groove in the barrel the wire sits in can get mushroomed slightly, if sliding does not wotk, pull out rod to end, stick a bar or drawbolt into end of rod and use a large hammer, hitting pin to drive rod and end gland out of cylinder, odds are all packings in it will be no good after they are forced past the ring groove, once out, remove nut on end of shaft, slide gland and piston off (keep track of orientation)and install new seals, clean end of barrel where ring groove is, make sure no burrs are there, use heavy grease, coat inside of barrel end and piston seals and gland seals and push into barrel by hand using a small circling motion, tap gland in to line up ring spot with hammer, be careul not to use to hard of blows so you do not cut seals, Good luck
