I have a 1979 2775 I bought at auction last year. Turns out the rear end casting around the drawbar mount had cracked, been welded, then JB Weld over that. I first noticed the problem when a new oil leak developed. Took it in to the dealer and $5000 later I hope it is a good tractor. Maybe the broke casting was a blessing in disguise. Pinion gear had a few scuffed teeth. Ring gear was OK. Changed out the gear set with a new R/P from another dealer, saved about $1000 over ordering from factory. R/P still cost $1500. New casting from factory was only about $400. Everything else inside was OK. Pretty new gray paint underneath, I think they may have grabbed the wrong paint can. Looks like WFE silver instead of Ferguson gray to me!!!
