What Kind of Tractor do I Need?Posted by AJZ on July 19, 2001 at 09:10:51 from (65.24.144.116):
What Kind of Tractor Do I Need? I have 1000+-. My soils are varying form silty loam to clay. I have a 30 grain drill i use a 12 row planter but may go to 16. I use a chisel plow for my deep tillage and a soil finisher for my secondary. I also believe in cultivation. So the tractor would have to accomadate a 12 to 16 cultivator. saddle tanks would also be used. I do not use nitrgen i use asgrow liquid fertilizer. I i am stuck between a 255 HP MFWD like what JD is coming out with or a 260 Horsepower JD 9100. The tractor would be the primary tractor as i would probably only have an 80 HP model to do utility work run a bailer and pull gravity wagons.
