Leyland 262 SyncroPosted by Dan(WI) on October 10, 2001 at 06:56:35 from (167.79.99.3):
My Mom inherited a British Leyland 262 Syncro diesel tractor from her cousin who passed away recently. The serial number is 243121 and the model number is 262NS. Can you tell me what year tractor this is? I would like to prepare it for winter storage. I want to change the oil. The tractor will not be used during winter months, just during the summer. What type/weight of oil should I use? The closest Leyland dealer is 200 miles in the wrong direction from where the tractor is. Can I get an oil filter for it at a NAPA or auto supply store? Do you know what filter number it would be? Should I put anti-gel stuff in the fuel? What other things should I do to it for winter storage? It will not be run for about 5 months. I appreciate all the help you can give me. Thanks!
