Binding sound from Kubota final drive when brake applied

I have a Kubota L305DT that makes a loud binding sound from the opposite final drive of the applied brake. Didn't do it for the first 16 years I owned the tractor. Replaced the brake discs and pads ($400 in parts), but that did nothing. Had a tractor mechanic look at it, but he said everything, gearwise, looked OK. Could it be the final drive bearings? I''d like to resolve this problem. Can someone help!
