Lewis,
Sounds like somthing is funny with the linkage?? Does the arm on the pump continue to rotate when the throttle lever is moved from the low idle position to the stop position? If it does the problem may be in the pump or loss motion in control linkage. Try unhooking the control linkage from the pump arm and start and run the pump throttle control by hand, with the engine running at set slow idle contiue to rotate the control arm there should be a dead spot below the low idle position then after you pass it the engine should shut off. If it does your problem is lost motion in the throttle control linkage. If it does not the problem lies within the pump. Good Luck. Dave W.
