Did I type ND instead of NE? Well guess I did. As far as the difference in worldwide sales dollar values CASE construction, which is mostly light industrial and what is now under the NH construction nameplate, which is 90% heavy industrial, is miniscule. However its my understanding that the LB which is the first backhoe sold by blue to be a true backhoe rather than a tractor backhoe as all their previous models were, is quite a bit newer design than the current Case backhoe. According to other actions by Fiat the newer designs are the first to be multibranded when the time comes to release new models into the other color. You pointed out the new Stieger/TJ tractor. Fiat had the choice in the deal of selling Versitile or Stieger lines. The Stieger by CaseIH was not quite in production at the time of the buyout but CaseIH had spent huge sums of money in its design. So natually Fiat sold the Versitile line. The same with the NH 70 series compared to the just released CaseIH 2wd tractors. NH sold its 70 series design because it was the older design. Fiat had CaseIH sell off its smaller 2wd while NH kept its TN, TL (both of Fiat design and produced in the old Fiat AGRI factory in Italy) and the NH TS (of Ford design and produced in the Basildon England plant) and when CaseIH can no longer buy the smaller tractors they will be replaced with red versions of the Fiat tractors. Like it or not that is what will happen.

By the way you can get the NH TJ in a powershift transmission but no, you cannot get a tracked version. However in the blue version you can get the "magaflow hydraulics" as they call them that is not availible in the red version. When a new large 2wd is introduced it will be a nearly identicle tractor but for availible options in both red and blue.

I never said NH was in charge. NH is a subsidiary of Fiat. If you look at a list of the board members of CNH Global you will find not 1 CaseIH memeber left. They are all Fiat board members who now run the CaseIH division just as they run the NH division. Also as far as the NH name it was chosen back in the purchase of Ford tractor because Ford Motor would only allow them to use the Ford name for a few years. New Holland was considered recognized in both NA and Europe. The tree symbol NH uses is accually Fiat AGRI's trademark.
