"If you look at a list of the board members of CNH Global you will find not 1 CaseIH memeber left." Sorry to bud in here, but there are actually 2 board members who are former Case men, Rosso is also still Chairman and ex.officer. There is 2 NH former members, and there is 2 fiat gents. Looks like a stalemate to me. The below is all on the ag side of things.. There is one other reason for the Steiger and MX tractors being dominant, they are better, by far, Howvere Case, since the David Brown line has not really been active in the smaller (ie under 100hp) line of tractors, so it is natural to use the NH who have been. Yyou should also note the huge amount of combines sold by Case vs NH's brand. I believe it is on the order of 6-7 to 1 or better. The "megaflow" hydraulics option appears also to be available in the new 2002 STX tractors, this is not a fact however, just some gossip from dealers etc, the 450 hp STX is also available in 2002. The Case balers are beginning to overshadow the NH type, and most guys at least in my area are starting to trade off the NH's for the Case brand. Case is getting the lion's share of swather sales also, NH still does better in forage cutting however. The new Case air seeders built by Flexi-coil are outselling the gray line 3-4 to 1, Flexicoil has been buying the local dealers out of red paint lately. They sell Sprayers, they are releasing a new axial flow for I believe 2003, larger then the current 2388, there are rumors of a conventional Case If you really want to think about it, there are few product lines that NH actually sells more of then Case, at least in the ag sector. Construction might be different, but then again construction sales account for about 40% of CNH's yearly income, while ag accounts for about 60% or so. Just look at the all the new equipment that Case is releasing, it makes the NH site and the NH dealers lot's look pretty hoo-hum. If Fiat wants to keep ahead of the green giant, they better keep Case alive and well, because sadly at least in North America, NH is running far behind Case.
