Broken Boom Arms on New Holland Lx665 Skidloaders

Posted by Tom on February 12, 2002 at 06:58:11 from (67.211.41.90):

I have been running 2, New Holland Lx665 Skidloaders for the past three years and am starting to have problems with the boom arms developing cracks and breaking, one of the units actually broke out at the bottom rear of the boom where it is hinged, the other unit broke in the middle of it's boom arm cracking completely in half, I have welded plates along the boom arms in order to stop the breaking.

Has anyone out there experienced this type of problem on the Lx665 units ? One unit is a 1997 model and the other is a 1996. Both units have about 1900 hrs. each of run time on them and are in good operating condition other than this problem.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom
