Re: Versatile????Posted by Don Wadge on February 13, 2002 at 22:20:16 from (216.81.2.37): In Reply to: Versatile???? posted by Green Envy on February 13, 2002 at 15:19:10: The 125, 118 and 145 all shared a common platform. Everything about the tractors were the same except for the engines and related accessories. The G125 was powered by a 391 Ford Industrial (truck) gasoline V8. The 118 had a 352cu.in. Cummins V6 diesel and the 145 had a 470 cu.in. Cummins V8 diesel. This series was made from 1967 to 1971, but the 125 was manufactured in 1967 and 1968 only. It's rather surprising that Versatile bothered to make a gas model as gasoline was all but gone even in the large 2 wheel drives. The 125 was 165 engine horsepower and was rated at 125hp. on the drawbar. The 125 is for sure a collectable tractor and will be in greater demand shortly for a number of reasons. It's one of the early Versatiles, low production numbers, cabs were optional so you don't need a cab to be authentic (more fun without the cab), the gasoline engine is probably almost unique in the industry in large Ag four-wheel drive tractors. The twin pipes are neat to. Check out versatile-tractors.com Let us know what happens.
