Machinery Forum clutch adjustment on JD870 [ Expand ] [ View Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Return to Forum ] Posted by hay on October 20, 2000 at 16:05:25 from (209.255.173.127): i am trying to adjust the clutch free play on my JD870, but the locking nuts on top and bottom of the turnbuckle adjuster are frozen. already sprayed the adjuster with penetrating oil several times. afraid to use heat because of the location is near the hydraulic fluid filter and the hydraulic lines. too close to get a propane torch in. any ideas?
