I am an investigator in Australia for one of the Police departments. I am currently investigating a tractor fatality involving a CASE 5140 tractor where the driver lost control of the vehicle. I have been made aware of a fault with the steering adjustment with this series of tractors where the steering column shaft comes out of the spline when lifted as there is no locking mechanism in place. Does anyone know about this problem or know or any recalls around the world by Case IH for this problem. Has there been any litigation if this has happened in your country. Any information would be useful.
Also anyone know how to get hold of the operators manual for above tractor.
