67 ford 3000 generator to alternator conversion. Need help!

Would like to see if anyone has a wiring diagram for switching a 67 Ford 3000 diesel tractor generator to an altenator. I have been told that you need an older Chevy alternator but I don't have any diagram as to where the wires go. The previous owner put an alternator on the tractor but did not hook up any of the wires. Please email me if you have any diagrams or can explain where to hook up the wires. Thank you!
