Re: Getting confusingPosted by JHEnt on August 15, 2002 at 16:29:18 from (216.138.51.24): In Reply to: Getting confusing posted by Richard on August 15, 2002 at 09:01:31: First AGCO bought the CAT tractors. Class bought the 50% share of the CAT combines in NA that it didn't already own. The deal is that CAT ag dealers will sell and service all CAT tractors and Challenger tractors. The Challenger line is just a yellow painted AGCO tractor and equipment. (The tractors are supposed to get CAT engines for these models though) Basically Cat got out of manufacturing farm equipment and AGCO gets to sell former CAT equipment and can sell their AGCO lines through the CAT dealer network. Second NH is introducing their own design new combines both a conventional cylinder and Twin Rotor designs. CaseIH Axialflow assembly was moved to the NH combine assembly plant. Case is supposed to get a new larger single rotor combine built on the same chassis/powertrain as the new NH machines in the future. Did that make it as clear as mud or what?
