Both Deere and Kubota now come with this option. Regular mode lets you have full transfer of power and economy lets you throttle back and conserve fuel as you stated. I find it hard to believe that a Kubota would have a 1000 PTO on it. I have only seen 1000 PTO used on applications which require a large transfer of power. Every auger I have ever seen has a 540 on it, very little old stuff had a 1000 on it. We have many implements equipped with a PTO and none of them have a 1000 PTO on them. These are not small, hobby farm implements either. Also, the 1000 and 540 are completely different shafts. You cannot put a 540 on a 1000 or vise-vesa. The 1000 has many more splines on it, the 540 only has six. I only say this because you say that you use faster PTO when the generator load is light, implying that you switch back to regular when the loads get greater. I am not writing to pick you apart. I just think that we are both thinking of different things and wanting to clarify what I said.
