I agree with your acessment for the potential buyer to go with the dealer of his choice. A good local dealer and support staff will easily outweigh differences between tractor brands. Our closest town is about 10 miles away and has the same number of tractor and new car dealerships (4 of each). I buy John Deere and the JD dealership also sells Flory Almond harvesting equipment which I have and use.
I have read about Valtra on the internet but have never seen one nor know where the closest dealer is in California.
