The 540 PTO shaft can't handle 100 hp or more, it twists off. So larger tractors tend to have only 1000 rpm, though JD with the 3010 and 4010 often came with interchangeable PTO shafts (made the same effect in a different way in the 3020 and 4020 and for decades later) so that either speed was available with the correct spline. Changing the PTO shaft shifted gears in the transmission. Some vintages of IH tractors had two PTO shafts, one for each speed. I don't know what provision the AC 6060 has.
